During the last two weeks English 12, We been learning about food politics. We watched two movies GMO OMG and Fed Up. We had to do sketchnotes. Ms. Priester gave us links to search up what sketchnotes are. When we were finished we drew the main points that had connected to the movies using sktchnotes.

The GMO OMG movie shows how a father investigates the relationship between genetically modified food with his three young children. It also, shows how Monsanto and other companies just want money. They fed us chemicals and don't tell us. It shows how Monsanto’s Roundup can affect humans and animals in a horrible way. It tells us that machines are taking farmer's job and more and more people would have no more jobs.  It also shows how we the people need to know what we're eating and stand up to the government.

In Fed Up, its shows Filmmaker Stephanie Soechtig and journalist Katie Couric show us how the food industry may be responsible for the obesity.  It shows how the fast food companies make it seem like they want people to eat healthy but really they don't. They give us fattening food. There is no healthy options in fast food places.

As a result of this lesson we learned more about how GMO’s are bad for us and should be banned from most of our foods. GMO’s are bad for our environment especially for our crops such as corn, soy, and animals because they eat that stuff which gets into their system.
Diana and Imani are going into senior year at SPA. Diana enjoys working out in the weight room and Imani is a member of basketball team.

Diana and Imani what an awesome article on why we should question the ingredients in our food. I loved the piece on "stand up to the government". I agree that protesting or boycotting can make a difference. The sketchnotes are great visuals to clearly explain the your position on this issue. Well Done!
